Tony Appelgryn qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1993 and is one of the founding partners of ARC Inc in 1996. Tony completed his studies at University of Johannesburg (RAU) and his articles with international audit firm PWC. He served on various committees of The Afrikaanse Sakekamer and also as chairman. In this capacity and as auditor in public practice and consultant, Tony gained extensive experience in the business sector especially in mining and retail, both in the auditing and business managerial fields. He also serves as an independent director and as chairman of audit committees of listed companies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange

His experience spans the entire project lifecycle, from Exploration to Definitive Feasibility Studies and Project Execution, with budgets ranging from US$100 million to 2.8 billion. He has specialized in driving cost reduction through Value Engineering practices and have a proven track record of success. He has worked on M&M Projects across Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America, and Central Asia, collaborating with industry leaders such as Anglo American, Vale, Rio Tinto, BHP, ArcelorMittal, and Hudbay.
